Commercial Real Estate Development Associate
The Commercial Real Estate Development Associate will work closely with senior leadership to support acquisitions, development projects, financial analysis, and strategic planning across The Barlow Group's growing commercial real estate portfolio.
This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in every phase of commercial real estate development—from acquisition and due diligence through construction, leasing, and long-term asset management.
Our portfolio includes industrial properties, mixed-use developments, retail centers, office buildings, renewable energy initiatives, and strategic redevelopment projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
This role is ideal for motivated professionals seeking to build a long-term career in commercial real estate development while working alongside experienced industry leaders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will assist with:
Market research and commercial real estate analysis
Property acquisition underwriting and financial modeling
Due diligence coordination for acquisitions and development projects
Preparation of investment memorandums and project presentations
Coordination with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and municipalities
Monitoring project budgets, schedules, and development milestones
Assisting with leasing strategy and tenant coordination
Supporting lender and investor reporting requirements
Maintaining project documentation and development records
Assisting senior management with strategic initiatives and special projects
QUALIFICATIONS
Ideal candidates should possess:
Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
2–5 years of experience in commercial real estate, finance, development, construction, or investment analysis preferred
Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and financial analysis tools
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
